The Mission of Chedoke Church

Our Mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Christ.

Such an objective makes several claims upon us. First, within the fellowship of the congregation we must learn to live the faith in such a way that our objective becomes possible. It also requires us to take on projects in our community and in the wider world that will help people meet Christ and move into a growing relationship with Him.

Chedoke Church desires to be Christ centered and Bible based. The messages in the worship service are relevant, engaging and down to earth. We do our best to include music that will inspire you. We offer programs and activities for people of all ages. Son City and KidsRoc are designed to enable children and young people to learn about God in ways that engage them. Expect your children to be enthusiastic participants.

Feel comfortable to be yourself at Chedoke Church. Dress comfortably - whatever that means for you. Chedoke is a "come as you are" place. Expect to meet people who, like yourself, are still searching for answers on their journey towards God and faith.

Mission Concerns in our Community and the wider world. In addition to participating in the Presbyterian Sharing program of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, Chedoke Church also supports a number of mission projects in our local community and beyond. We include information about just some of those projects here.

Neighbour to Neighbour Chedoke Church is supportive of this local program that responds to the needs of struggling people in our community. On the first Sunday of each month there are shopping carts available to receive your donations of supplies for their foodbank. Posted notices will identify the things which are in greatest immediate need.

The Guatemala Project For several years Chedoke has been participating with three other local Presbyterian congregations (St. Andrew's, Ancaster, Alberton and St. Paul's Carluke) to raise funds to assist in the rebuilding of the Filadelphia Church in Guatemala. On two occasions (2008 and 2010) supporters have journeyed to Guatemala to share in the rebuilding and to learn more about the local mission of the church in Guatemala.

Presbyterians Sharing is the fund that supports the national programs and ministries of the Presbyterian Church in Canada.
