Covid really messed with so much. It messed with our annual meeting too. Back in January of 2021 we were still not meeting in person and couldn’t have the 2020 annual meeting. Chedoke’s finance team and managers created a temporary working budget for the year. They did a great job, and it has worked well.
Instinct would say it makes sense to just skip this year’s annual meeting and start fresh in 2022. However, as a registered charity with the Canadian government, we are required to have an annual meeting approving the budget.
So, on December 5th, after worship, we will have a very quick, atypical, annual meeting where you will be asked to give your approval to the 2020 financial statements and the 2021 budget. Where possible, please limit your attendance to one person per household, in the interest in allowing for as many as can to attend this meeting. We will be back to our regular annual meeting format in the new year to deal with 2022. Save your bigger questions for the meeting in the new year.
